Unergative predicates: Architecture and Variation
The research centers Structures Formelles du Langage (UMR 7023, CNRS/Paris 8) and IKER (UMR 5478, CNRS), and the research groups Bas&Be (FFI2014-51878-P UPV/EHU) and the Bilingual Mind (IT665-13 UPV/EHU) co-organize the workshop ‘Unergative predicates: Architecture and Variation’, to be held in Bilbao, Basque Country, on January 18-19, 2018. The goal of the workshop is to gather researchers working currently on unergative verbs and to provide a forum of discussion on recent advances in this field. + info
Language Contact from an I-Language Perspective
This international conference was held at Donostia-San Sebastian (Basque Country), in October 27-28, 2016. It was organized by the Center for the Study of Basque Language and its Text (CNRS-IKER, UMR 5478), together with the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), and its aim was to be a showcase for the latest contributions and advances in our understanding of contact related language change and language development. + info
Towards a theory of Syntactic Variation
The language research groups Basdisyn and The Bilingual Mind co-organized an International Workshop entitled Towards a theory of Syntactic Variation. The workshop took place in Bilbao, The Basque Country, in June 5-7, 2013. The goal of the workshop was to provide a forum of discussion on different approaches to the nature of syntactic variation and its place in linguistic theory. + info
Euskaren sintaxia: aldakortasun sintaktikoa euskal hizkeretan
Basdisyn’s Beatriz Fernández (UPV/EHU) and Ricardo Etxepare (IKER UMR 5478) jointly organized the workshop entitled “Euskaren sintaxia: aldakortasun sintaktikoa euskal hizkeretan” (‘The syntax of the Basque languages: syntactic variation in the varieties of Basque’) in Donostia/San Sebastián, on July 2-3, 2009, as part of the XXI Summer Courses of the University of the Basque Country.
The workshop presented ongoing research work on syntactic dialect variation in Basque, most of it by Basdisyn members. The talks addressed multiple aspects of variation: formal generative analysis, diachronic variation, code-switching by language contact, digital cartographic representation of variation and so on. program
4th European Dialect Syntax Meeting
The European Research Network Edisyn and its Basque research group Basdisyn jointly organize the 4th European Dialect Syntax Meeting in Donostia/San Sebastián, on June 21-23, 2010, as part of the XXII European Summer Courses of the University of the Basque Country.
This year the meeting will have two parts: one containing report sessions by some of the projects operating under the network (…) + info
