Generalized pattern. The verb izan 'be' has the resultative participial form izana.

(1) Lehen ere Baionan izana naiz
before also Baiona.INE be.PTCP.RES 1SG.ABS.be
‘I have been in Baiona before.’

Variational pattern. In some varieties, the resultative participle ukan(a) is attested instead.

‘I have been in Baiona before.’

Reported in: Oriental varieties of Navarresse-Lapurdian, as in Luzaide Basque (Iñaki Camino, p.c.). Absent at least in occidental and central varieties of Navarresse-Lapurdian (Beñat Oihartzabal, Piarres Xarriton, Maia Duguine and Céline Mounole (p.c.).

Historical evidence: An alternation also attested when izan 'be' is the copula (in its participial form) of resultative participial predication: ukandubaysen conceviturik '(s)he was conceived' (a prayer written in High Navarresse, 1614) (Céline Mounole, p.c.).
